Ready to make the change from shaving to waxing? Looking for longer lasting results than shaving or removal creams? Wondering when is the time to book?
For your wax to be most effective you need to let your hair grow out for at least 3 weeks... yes, I know 3 weeks! That can seem a long time especially if you have been used to shaving daily and not used to seeing hair, but stick with it, it’ll be worth it. Winter is the best time to do this, you can cover up during these months so only you will know what you have growing.
For your first wax, prepare your skin beforehand... It'll make the process a lot easier and more effective. Moisturise daily and use a scrub at least 2-3 times a week, just don’t do this on the day of your wax. Removing the dead skin cells will allow the hair to be removed without any resistance and it will be more comfortable. Moisturising will hydrate and soften your skin and make it soft and supple. Drink more water as this will also hydrate your skin, dehydrated skin will cling on to the hairs making it more uncomfortable when removed.
After your wax your hair will grow out finer, lighter, sparser and much softer than after shaving... leave it 4 weeks until your next wax. It can take 3-4 appointments to get all your hair growing in the same cycle, once this is achieved all your hair will be removed at the same time meaning it will stay away for longer.

Reopening on the horizon @bikiniwaxshack The Government announcement last night confirmed that close contact services (me!) will potentially be able to reopen from Monday 12th April, this date, however, will be confirmed the week before, so it is still speculative and not 100% guaranteed. I choose to be positive and that we can go ahead! so online booking is open from Monday 12th April. If you have been shaving or using hair removal creams during lockdown this is totally fine, absolutely no judgement from me! Just remember that I need a minimum of 3 weeks hair growth to wax you effectively. If you let it grow, that’s fine too! Please don’t worry about the length of your hair or be embarrassed about having hair, I will trim the hair to the correct length if I need to – if you are going to do this yourself the hair needs to be a minimum of 1cm, a good guide is the length of a grain of rice. As always, skin preparation and maintenance are going to be the key to great results! Get buffing, scrubbing and moisturising now.. scrub 2-3 times a week and moisturise daily. I am a big fan of using body oil on wet skin after bathing, it really is the quickest, easiest, and most effective way. Get in touch if you wish to purchase any of my retail items.
