Pre-Treatment Advice

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE

Prior to your appointment it is recommended that you follow this advice.

No hair removal creams or shaving for 3 weeks before your appointment.

No Chemical Exfoliants (AHA or BHA products including ingrown hair products) for 48 hours prior to waxing.

No sunbathing, sunbeds or heat treatments for 24 hours beforehand.

No bath oils or body lotions on the day of the appointment itself.

No alcoholic drinks (to calm your nerves) it will make the waxing more painful due to it being a stimulant (this also applies for a hangover).

no caffeine before the treatment - it will make the waxing more painful due to it being a stimulant.

no tanning products for 24 hours prior to waxing.

Do - use a body scrub or mitt to gently exfoliate the skin a few days before waxing. This will help to slough off any dead skin cells and lift the hair for better results.

Do - wear clean loose-fitting clothes to your appointment.

Do - Bring a clean t-shirt\top to change into if you are having a back or chest wax.

Treatment Day..

When arriving at Bikini Wax Shack you will be greeted and directed to the treatment room.

You will be advised what clothing to remove for the treatment(s) being provided.

You will be shown where to place your clothing, so it is protected whilst your treatment is in progress.

You will be instructed to either lay face up or down on the treatment couch after undressing.

You will be left to undress, use the wipe provided to 'freshen up' (if an intimate wax) and place the used wipe in the bin.

On returning to the treatment room I will put on a new pair of protective gloves and use a hand sanitiser.

I will confirm the treatment booked and confirm what hair will be removed.

Before commencing the treatment your skin will be cleansed and then a pre wax lotion will be applied (If the hair is too long, it will be trimmed beforehand).

I will check the temperature of the wax on myself to confirm it is comfortable and a small amount to the treatment area to also ensure it is comfortable for you before proceeding with the full treatment.

During the treatment I may instruct you to assist with stretching of the skin.

Once the hair has been removed, I will re-cleanse the skin and remove any stray hairs with tweezers then apply a post wax lotion.

I will explain the aftercare you need to follow, and this will also be emailed to you for future reference as a link within your sales receipt.

You will be instructed to get dressed whilst I clean up the wax station and prepare the sale for payment. I accept all cards, Apple pay etc and good old fashioned cash!

I don't generally ask if you want to rebook in 4-8 weeks - I don't believe in putting people on the spot!

instead you will receive a friendly reminder 21 days after your treatment to rebook..

However, if you are limited on the times you can attend appointments it is advised to pre-book to avoid any disappointment

I am available to answer any questions you may have.

* The above will all be communicated verbally as the treatment progresses, but I thought it would be nice to just confirm the process, especially if this is your first time being waxed or visiting Bikini Wax Shack.

If there is anything I haven't covered and you have any questions please do let me know - otherwise, I look forward to seeing you (and your hair) on your appointment day!
